Substantive editing, as opposed to line editing, focuses on a piece's "big picture"  by dissecting its overall concept, organization, and presentation. 

For substantive editing projects, the emphasis of my work will be to refine your work in terms of its efficacy and consistency. The goal of substantive editing is to ensure your work lives up to your vision for a given piece by fine-tuning the delivery, timing, and presentation of broad ideas.
